Halloween came early this year

I’m thrilled to share that my Halloween vectors are live on Creative Market. Check it out here.

I had genuine fun making them and I mean that. Yes, it was hard work as it involved many moving parts – design, illustration, mock-ups, copy writing, tech – but it was so worth it. I also got to play with new software which is one of my favourite things.

The mock-ups above were made in 3D software Adobe Dimension, which I’ve never used before. (If you’re not into software and design process please look away now).

I drew the phone in separate pieces in Illustrator then imported them into Dimension. I ‘built’ one phone to start with then added colour and texture to it, a bit like a virtual DIY Airfix kit. Once that was done, I duplicated it and arranged it in this combo. I then applied my patterns and designs, tried different light settings and hey presto. The final render file is great because it’s in layers so I could change the background and add the ghostly skulls in Photoshop. Did I mention I love playing with software…?!

Hope you enjoy the set.
